Make your own Birthday Party Hats
and have the children join in the fun of decorating them.
Download the pattern above. (Just press
print). Place in your scanner and enlarge so that right edge
is between 6" and 7" in length depending on the age
and size of the children. Print on heavy colored paper (try to
get 24 lb.) or on Index colored stock of about 110 lb. This is
called Inventory Index and is about the same weight as a business
card. If this is a problem take it to your local print shop such
as Kinko's. Staples, Office Depot etc. If you do not have a local
print shop print one on color paper and a second can be printed
or traced on the heaviest paper you have. You can glue or tape
them together.
Roll up the Birthday Party hat in a cone
shape and glue or tape the tab in place. Punch a small hole at
the points indicated. Reinforce holes with scotch tape. Use elastic
thread or cut two rubber bands into single strands. Tie them
together and attach to holes. If you wish to have an activity
to do at your party you can have the children color the Birthday
Party Hats and apply colorful stickers. Write each child's name
on the hat with an Avery Glue Stick or the equivalent (rubber
cement will work), then sprinkle sparkle on the glue. Do the
same with other designs such as stars and moons. The children
will love them and take them home with them to show their families.
